NYBG, FINAL PROJECT

The assignment was to design and draw a garden for an existing property located in Montclair, New Jersey. Located on a relatively small lot, the space had virtually no vegetation and very little privacy. Instead of trying to make the small yard feel bigger I opted to take advantage of its size and create a cozy, densely planted outdoor living room. I surrounded the property with Tupelo and Eastern Redbud and created overflowing beds filled with native Northeastern plants. I centered the living space on an outdoor fireplace and added a stone wall and hedges for privacy.
